Methodology & Transparency

NEX is designed around a financial-analysis methodology that considers reporting structure, accounting framework, business characteristics and the financial information available in the source report. As sector-aware analytical capabilities are expanded, these factors will increasingly determine the metrics and signals applied to each report.

Accounting-framework-aware analysis

NEX may use internationally recognized accounting frameworks, including IFRS and US GAAP, as signals for understanding financial reporting structures and terminology.

IFRS and US GAAP are accounting frameworks, not industry-classification systems. NEX therefore combines accounting-framework signals with the financial report itself to determine the appropriate reporting and analysis profile.

Sector-aware financial analysis

Different businesses require different financial metrics.

For example:

  • Manufacturing and consumer businesses

May be evaluated using revenue, gross profit, margins, operating performance, inventory and working-capital indicators when available.

  • Banks and financial institutions

May require total income, net interest income, fee income, cost-to-income ratio, net result, capital and credit-risk metrics.

  • Insurance, investment, real-estate and other specialized businesses

May require different reporting and analytical profiles.

NEX applies financial metrics according to their relevance to the report and the available supporting financial disclosures.

Evidence before conclusions

NEX’s analytical framework is being developed around the following structure:

  1. 1Accounting framework
  2. 2Reporting model
  3. 3Industry
  4. 4Business model
  5. 5Relevant financial metrics
  6. 6Risks and signals

NEX is designed to avoid presenting unsupported financial metrics or conclusions. When sufficient information is unavailable, the analysis should clearly reflect that limitation.

Source transparency

Where available, NEX identifies the report pages used during financial extraction and exposes validation information to help users understand the basis of the analysis.

Important limitation

NEX provides AI-assisted financial analysis for informational and decision-support purposes.

Financial data, calculations and analytical signals should be reviewed together with the original company disclosures.

NEX does not replace professional accounting, audit, investment, legal, tax or financial advice.
