Reading financial ratios and signals with confidence

NEX presents what a report says — not a recommendation. This guide explains how signals are categorised and what each part of the dashboard is for.
Risk

Significant risks

Reserved for findings that materially affect the financial picture — deteriorating profitability, liquidity pressure or figures that do not reconcile.

Warning

Items to review

Observations that deserve a second look but are not conclusive on their own, such as a single-period margin decline or an incomplete disclosure.

Positive

Strengths and opportunities

Improving growth, expanding margins or other indicators pointing in a favourable direction.

Other

Context

Neutral observations that describe the report without implying a positive or negative conclusion.

Growth metrics

Growth is only meaningful when both the current and prior period figures were reported. Where a prior figure is missing, NEX shows the current value without a change indicator rather than estimating one.

Margins

Margins are shown as levels, not directions — a high margin is not automatically green. Compare it against the prior period and the sector you are looking at.

Validation

A validation pass means the extracted figures were internally consistent. Any reported issues are shown in full so you can decide whether the extraction is fit for your purpose.

Source pages

Every analysis lists the pages used. Before relying on a figure, check it against the original report page.
